"Maestro de primaria, agricultor y comerciante. Simpatizó con la Revolución y fue uno de sus jóvenes generales. Ocupó diversos cargos durante el gobierno de Obregón. Presidente en 1924, se caracterizó por una dictadura pedagógica en la que se fundó la Comisión Nacional Bancaria, el Banco de Mexico y el Partido Nacional Revolucionario. Su política anticlerical llevo a los campesinos de occidente a levantarse en armas.
