Si intende per monitoraggio non solo quello strumentale ben noto, ma anche l’acquisizione di un insieme di informazioni dalle più semplici (semeiotica) alle più complesse (emodinamica, equilibrio acido-base, coagulazione, scambi respiratori, funzione renale, metabolismo ecc.) che consente di mantenere in equilibrio le funzioni vitali nel periodo perioperatorio. Il volume, strutturato in 19 capitoli, descrive il monitoraggio da eseguire per ottenere queste informazioni e fa ampio cenno alle tecnologie consigliabili per il controllo delle funzioni vitali nei capitoli relativi al monitoraggio dei pazienti a rischio e di quelli da sottoporre a particolari tipi di chirurgia (donna in gravidanza, paziente pediatrico, insufficiente cardiaco, iperteso, politraumatizzato, paziente sottoposto a chirurgia polmonare...). L’ultimo capitolo offre una descrizione completa degli strumenti proposti, consentendo al lettore di conoscerne valori e limiti. |
