Los erizos de mar tienen una relevancia ecológica em los ecosistemas marinos debido a que la variación en su densidad puede alterar la composición y abundancia relativa de los grupos funcionales bentónicos. El erizo Taxopneustes roseus es el segundo erizo más abundante en las comunidades de arrecifes rocosos del Parque Nacional Islas Marietas en el Pacífico Central Mexicano. |
